How to Measure Your hat size

Hat sizes can be confusing; 7, 7 1/4, 7 1/2..huh? Before I got into hat making those numbers made zero sense to me. That’s because US hat sizes are calculated by taking the number of inches around the circumference of your head divided by 3.14 or pi (22 / 3.14=7). Oh yeah, pi, haven’t heard that since middle school. If you know your hat size, but want to find the circumference of your head in inches, then you’d take your hat size and multiple it by 3.14. ( 7 * 3.14=21.98 inches).
