To measure your head for a custom hat, you’ll need a tailor’s tape measure (the soft, flexible kind). A friend or a mirror can help, and if you own a similar style hat, that can be useful too.
Items Needed:
• Tailor’s Measuring Tape
• Friend or Mirror
• Similar Hat (optional)
Instructions:
If You Have a Similar Hat:
1. Put on the hat and note where you like it to sit (distance from your eyebrows, ears, and the back of your head).
2. Follow the steps below, placing the measuring tape at the spots you’ve noted.
If You Don’t Have a Hat:
1. Use your imagination to determine where you’d like the hat to sit.
Steps:
1. Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your head, about a finger’s width above your ears, and adjust it to sit where you’d like the hat’s brim to rest near your eyebrows.
2. Write down the measurement in centimeters.
3. Repeat this process until you get the same measurement twice.
